Attention New Employees, did you know that if you were employed at another SUNY campus and have recently become employed at Stony Brook University you can, at the time of your appointment, or within six months of your appointment at SBU, make a request up to three years of service be counted towards your permanent appointment.
Please note the following as per the SUNY POLICIES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES:
Service Credit:
(1) In determining eligibility for permanent appointment under this section, satisfactory full-time prior service in a professional title at any one college of the University may, at the request of the professional employee and in the discretion of the Chancellor, or designee, be credited as service, up to a maximum of three years, at the time of appointment at another college. A waiver of all or part of this service credit shall be granted upon written request of the employee to the chief administrative officer no later than six months after the date of appointment at that college.
