Please join us on Zoom only (RSVP to be sent the link) for the Discipline and Counseling Workshop. What are your rights if your supervisor (or someone else) wants to issue you a counseling memo? What are the College’s rights, and what is the range of their authority, if they have a concern about possible incompetence or misconduct? What can a union member do if she or he believes she is the subject of a disciplinary procedure? This workshop will address these questions. There is an underlying and overall balance of rights and responsibilities accruing to the College and its employees as it relates to issues of counseling and discipline. We’ll discuss this balance, provide some tips on how to handle situations that might arise, and answer as many questions as possible during our session. Our union is comprised of both supervisors and non-supervisors. This workshop will address concerns and sensitivities of folks in both categories.
