UUP Stony Brook and the SBU Labor Council (CWA 1104/GSEU, CSEA, UUP) have been in dialogue and negotiations with Mobility & Parking Services (MAPS) and management regarding the recently announced parking changes on campus.
Our contract has outlined parking rights under article 38, and as per our and as per our collective bargaining agreement UUP and management have been discussing parking. We cited concern with their plans and presented a variety of feedback and suggestions. Some suggestions were accepted, resulting in a reduction of the number of faculty/staff spots that will impacted. MAPS & Management have agreed to make this a semester-by-semester trial, with ongoing negotiations.
