Chapter President Andrew Solar-Greco recently sat down with Judy Wishnia, a long standing UUP member and leader, serving both Stony Brook and the statewide Executive Board, as well as NYSUT and AFT.
Judy discusses her working life as first a part-time contingent academic, and then as a tenured faculty member. She discusses her early fight for pay equity, female faculty, and founding Suffolk County’s first NOW chapter on campus. She shares fond memories of fellow UUP members and discusses the value of Stony Brook Day advocacy in Albany.
